Cindy Gregg, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, assumed her duties as Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Bangui in Central African Republic, in October 2017. She joined the Foreign Service in 1999, specializing in the Public Affairs cone.
Ms. Gregg’s earlier assignments include as Deputy Chief Mission in Banjul, The Gambia, Deputy Chief of Mission Brazzaville, The Republic of Congo; Consular Chief in Belmopan, Belize (years); Deputy Provincial Coordinator in Mosul, Iraq; Consular and Political in Lomé, Togo; and Public Affairs Officer in Canberra, Australia.
Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Ms. Gregg was the public communications officer for the Mayor of Huntsville, Alabama and prior to that, the Publications Director for Highline Community College in Des Moines, Washington.
Ms. Gregg earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and her Master’s Degree at Seattle University. She resides in in Camas, Washington.
